One Million BioFresh Fridges Sold

Liebherr have annouced that they have sold over one million BioFresh Fridges since its launch. BioFresh technology works by keeping the temperature of different compartments within the refrigerator at the optimum storage temperature and humidity for different types of food. This means that all your fresh food can be stored for longer, including fruit, vegetables, fish and meat.

It has proven popular anyway to have sold over one million- that's quite a number of fridges!

Unmistakenly German

Liebherr are possibly more well known for their cranes and industrial machinery than for their kitchen appliances, but a customer last week specifically asked for Liebherr when searching for a wine cooler. This particular gentleman had an entirely German kitchen and rated Liebherr very highly. I think his exact words were "I trust German cars to keep me safe on the motorway, so I think I can trust a German kitchen appliance to keep my wine cool!"

Liebherr Refrigeration - a Family Business

The Liebherr Group started as one family business and it was established in 1949 by Hans Liebherr. His first success was the tower crane for construction, which was easy to assemble and affordable. After this, his company really took off and Hans branched out into mining and digging equipment and also into domestic appliances.
Today Liebherr is one of the world's leading suppliers of technically innovative domestic appliances, including Liebherr Refrigeration. Its headquarters are in Biberach an der Riss, Baden-Württemberg in Germany.
Over the years the family business has grown into what is today a group of companies, employing a workforce of approx. 26,000 in more than 100 companies across the globe.
The quality of Liebherr Refrigeration was further acknowledged last year when the "Better Living" initiative and the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology awarded Liebherr the "Kitchen Innovation of the Year 2007" prize in August.
In the large electrical appliances/refrigerators category, two Liebherr appliances took first and second places. A Liebherr built-in combined fridge-freezer with BioFresh and NoFrost technology received the first prize. The second prize in this category went to a Liebherr built-in combined fridge-freezer featuring BioFresh technology.
BioFresh extends the storage life of all foods, meaning less wasted food... and money. Also, biofresh technology uses only the natural gases of ozone and ethylene. All of this makes cooling and freezing easy and ethical.
If you have had your fridge-freezer for a while, you will probably have to defrost your freezer compartment at least twice a year. But because Liebherr often uses the innovative NoFrost technology, there is no longer any need to defrost.
Liebherr's CBNes range comes with both of these features and the refrigerator at the top of this range is the CBNes 5067, which combines technology with style and practicality.
Not only does it include BioFresh and NoFrost technology, it also gets an A for energy efficiency, which means that you save money and the environment. This Liebherr fridge-freezer is neatly separated up with a place for everything from a butter and cheese compartment to an exotic fruit compartment, making it one of the most easily organisable Leibherr fridges available.
This Liebherr fridge is definitely not small, measuring two metres in height, 75cm in width and 63cm in depth, making this freestanding refrigerator perfect for larger families.
You can also keep your CBNes 5067 safe from prying hands with its child proof function. This range includes dozens of little features to make your life in the kitchen that little bit easier. It even has that all important bottle rack and a permanently plumbed in ice maker.
This model is available in: Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, and Great Britain
The Liebherr Group's current holding company is Liebherr-International AG in Bulle, Switzerland. It is owned solely by members of the Liebherr family. Willi and Isolde Liebherr are the current-generation family owners who were listed among the billionaires of 2005. Liebherr has locations in many countries, including Germany, Britain, Ireland, and the United States.

Today Liebherr is not only one of the world’s leading manufacturers of construction machinery but is also an acknowledged supplier of technically innovative user-oriented products and services in numerous other fields. Over the years the family business has grown into what is today a group of companies, employing a workforce of approx. 26,000 in more than 100 companies on all continents.

But even at the lower end of the price scale, Liebherr do not fail to impress with the CTPsef 2031 model, which is a free standing fridge- freezer that you can definitely get your money's worth from. This perfectly designed Liebherr stainless steel appliance has an energy efficiency rating A+, which can only be a good thing in a world that places such high emphasis on energy efficient products from both a financial and environmental point of view.
In this Liebherr stainless steel fridge- freezer the spacious 4 star freezer compartment is at the top of the unit with a large refrigerator beneath it. This appliance, along with other Liebherr stainless steel fridge- freezers in the top- freezer range, has lots of space for fresh food, safe long-term storage and is easy to use.
If we take a look at the other end of the price spectrum, at just below the £3000 mark, the side- by- side Liebherr stainless steel SBSes 7155 fridge-freezer encompasses everything you would ever need from a freestanding fridge- freezer, including masses of storage space, Biofresh technology to keep your food good and fresh for up to three times as long as an ordinary fridge and this range of Liebherr stainless steel appliances also has an excellent energy efficiency rating of between A and A+ depending on the model you choose.
As well as the basics, this Liebherr stainless steel appliance includes some luxury features such as the integral ice maker and a compartment dedicated to storing wine.

They come in a number of different sizes and can hold between 40 and 231 75cl bottles of Bordeaux depending upon the range and model you choose.

Liebherr Chest Freezers

The luxury of freezing allows households to buy larger amounts of foods in bulk that do not have to be rushed to be eaten by the sell by date and can instead be eaten at leisure. The bulk purchase provides cost savings, but more importantly, ice-cream can be kept in them and other foods that would not be able to be stored without a freezer. Before freezers were available, ice-cream could previously only be enjoyed by travelling long distances to where the product was made fresh and had to be eaten on the spot. Now it can be enjoyed at any time. Ice on-demand not only adds to the enjoyment of cold drinks, but is useful in first-aid applications and cold packs can be kept frozen for picnics or in case of an emergency.
Most domestic appliance manufacturers provide chest freezers, but if it is specifically a Liebherr chest freezer that you are after, there are a few to choose from. All of the Liebherr chest freezers have an energy efficiency class of A+, to save money and keep tabs on your carbon footprint and only consume from 215.4 kWh to 408 kWh in 365 days. With environmental issues being so prevalent in the news these days and the rising cost of fuel affecting the price of everything, energy is not something that is used lightly or inexpensively, so it is always best to try and stay as energy efficient as possible.
Liebherr chest freezers are available in a range of sizes to suit the space that is available in your kitchen. The GTL4905 model is a commercial chest freezer, is available in white only and has a gross capacity of 485 litres. It features a static cooling system and needs to be manually defrosted, but all of Liebherr’s energy saving chest freezers are fitted with the StopFrost system, which reduces frosting in the interior of the chest freezer and on the frozen food. This means that the freezer will need defrosting much less often. It also means that the freezer will open effortlessly every time, because the vacuum in the chest is also controlled by the StopFrost system. This model also has a mechanic control system, an external analogue temperature display and a temperature range of -14 degrees Celsius to -26 degrees Celsius.
The domestic Liebherr chest freezers that are available are obviously far smaller in height and width than the commercial freezers and also have a smaller capacity, but they still come with the StopFrost system that makes defrosting and general use of the freezer more convenient. The domestic chest freezers have a maximum capacity ranging from 199 to 572 litres depending upon the model choice. They are available in heights between 153.8cm and 166.5cm and widths between 83.7cm to 164.7cm. The smallest of the Liebherr Chest Freezers is the GTS 2112 which has a mechanic control system and an optical malfunction warning signal.
Liebherr chest freezers are available all over Europe, including Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, and Great Britain.
